Virgil is a watercolor painter, teacher, tutor, demonstrator and commentator on various Internet watercolor and painting sites. He has participated in workshops with a number of respected contemporary U.S., Canadian and Australian watercolor artists, including:
Susan Abbott, Don Andrews, Brian Ateyo, Mary Beaumont, Lee Boynton, T. Mark Cole, Carl Dalio, Domenic Distefano, Steve Fleming, William Skip Lawrence, Phil Levine, Christopher Schink, Thomas Seguros, Mel Stabin, David Taylor, James Toogood, William Vrscak, and Robert Wade.
Virgil’s paintings have been selected to appear in juried exhibitions with various awards by the Philadelphia Watercolor Society, the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, the Baltimore Watercolor Society, Southern Watercolor Society, the Texas Watercolor Society, Chester County Art Association, Delaware Valley Art League, the Greater Norristown Art League, Comfort Art Festival and the Guadalupe Watercolor Group.
His paintings have also been included in juried exhibitions by the Keystone Nationals, Historic Yellow Springs Art Show, and a one-person exhibition at the Kerr Art and Cultural Center.
Virgil has also had invited exhibitions at 195 Gallery and Carriage House Gallery in Boerne, the Comfort Art Festival, and Intermezzo Gallery in Comfort.

Virgil is a juried Signature Artist Member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society, the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, the Philadelphia Water Color Society, the Southern Watercolor Society, and the Texas Watercolor Society. He is also a past juried Painter Member of the Delaware Valley Art League, and member of the Boerne Art League and the Guadalupe Watercolor Group.
He is also an associate member of the American Watercolor Society.
